1693
Hackensack township created by act of the General Assembly. This township includes what is now known as Fort Lee.

1776
Fort Constitution constructed on Palisades. The name was later changed to Fort Lee.
On November 20th British troops crossed the Hudson and Washington's army retreated.

1843
School at Fort Lee has 52 students.

1859
Madonna Church is built.

1874
Property of Lyman Allyn, deceased is auctioned in Fort Lee. His property comprised the western side of Palisade Avenue from Main Street to south of Pond Park and south of Pond Park to Parker Avenue.

1879
The Academy of the Holy Angels is established.

1880
Fort Lee population is 1424. Coytesville has 424 persons.

1888
Fort Lee Law and order society raids dog fight and arrests 9.

1904
Borough of Fort Lee is incorporated. It includes the sections of Coytesville and Leonia Heights.
John C. Abbott is elected Mayor.

1907
Edwin S. Porter films the Eagle's Nest on the Palisades.

1908
Monument to the Soldiers and Sailors of the American Revolution is erected.

1909
Palisade section is added to Fort Lee Borough.
Champion Studio established in Coytesville.
Mary Pickford makes her film debut in Violin Maker of Cremona filmed in Fort Lee.

1910
The Fort Lee Athletic Club holds its first meeting at Schlossers Hall.

1911
Eclair studios are built.

1912
Universal Film Manufacturing company formed.
Eclair and Champion are combined in new company.
Florence Lawrence, The Biograph Girl founds the Victor Film Company.
Alice Guy Blache and her husband Herbert build $100,000 studio in Fort Lee.
Peerless builds studios on Lewis Street.

1914
World Pictures founded.
William Fox starts his film company and uses Willat studios in Fort Lee.

1915
Universal opens new studios.

1916
Lewis Selznick establishes Selznick Picture Corp. and uses Solax Studios for filming.
Goldwyn Pictures Corporation founded.
Artcraft and Famous Players founded and use Peerless Studio in Fort Lee.

1919
General Pershing comes to town.

1920
Movie strike in Fort Lee.

1927
Construction starts on George Washington Bridge.

1931
George Washington Bridge opens to traffic.

1933
Mayor and council vote to authorize the State Municipal Finance Commission to help the borough to get out from it's 4 million dollar debt.

1936
Riviera nightclub atop the Palisades burns down. It is rebuilt and opened the following year.

1940
Forty one family homes erected on Whiteman Street between Gerome Avenue and Lemoine Avenue. Designs include Cape Cod, Georgian, English and Colonial.

1940
Artist Henry Schnakenberg completed four colorful murals depicting Fort Lee history for the Fort Lee Post Office.

1944
Fire at Palisades Amusement Park kills 7 and injures 150. $1 million worth of damage to the Park.

1964
Construction is complete on the first four Horizon House buildings, the first high-rise construction in Fort Lee.
